drinking water💦

785 million people lack even a basic drinkingwater service, including 144 million people who are dependent on surface water. Globally, at least 2 billion people use a drinking water source contaminated with faeces. Contaminated water can transmit diseases such diarrhoea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid, and polio.

Safe and readily available water is important for public health, whether it is used for drinking, domestic use, food production or recreational purposes. Improved water supply and sanitation, and better management of water resources, can boost countries’ economic growth and can contribute greatly to poverty reduction.

In 2010, the UN General Assembly explicitly recognized the human right to water and sanitation. Everyone has the right to sufficient, continuous, safe, acceptable, physically accessible, and affordable water for personal and domestic use.

Contaminated water and poor sanitation are linked to transmission of diseases such as cholera, diarrhoea, dysentery, hepatitis A, typhoid, and polio. Absent, inadequate, or inappropriately managed water and sanitation services expose individuals to preventable health risks. This is particularly the case in health care facilities where both patients and staff are placed at additional risk of infection and disease when water, sanitation, and hygiene services are lacking. Globally, 15% of patients develop an infection during a hospital stay, with the proportion much greater in low-income countries.

Inadequate management of urban, industrial, and agricultural wastewater means the drinking-water of hundreds of millions of people is dangerously contaminated or chemically polluted.

Some 829 000 people are estimated to die each year from diarrhoea as a result of unsafe drinking-water, sanitation, and hand hygiene. Yet diarrhoea is largely preventable, and the deaths of 297 000 children aged under 5 years could be avoided each year if these risk factors were addressed. Where water is not readily available, people may decide handwashing is not a priority, thereby adding to the likelihood of diarrhoea and other diseases.

Diarrhoea is the most widely known disease linked to contaminated food and water but there are other hazards. In 2017, over 220 million people required preventative treatment for schistosomiasis – an acute and chronic disease caused by parasitic worms contracted through exposure to infested water.

In many parts of the world, insects that live or breed in water carry and transmit diseases such as dengue fever. Some of these insects, known as vectors, breed in clean, rather than dirty water, and household drinking water containers can serve as breeding grounds. The simple intervention of covering water storage containers can reduce vector breeding and may also reduce faecal contamination of water at the household level.

how often do you really use your phone🤔

how often do you really use your phone 🤔

This video was very interesting and funny at the same time.😂 But it was very true some people use there phones too much I don’t but some times when I don’t have nothing to do or ( when im bored😅) I play with my phone or I will play video games on my play station and more…

I just think that some people use there phones for certain things like for business or work and more… But they’re are people that take it too far like spend the whole day on they’re phones. I do use my phone but I don’t use it a lot because I do lots of activities. well at the end lots of people don’t even have phones ….😳 Today, it is estimated that more than 5 billion people have mobile devices, and over half of these connections are smartphones

FUNFACT!!!!!!

n Japan, 90% of cell phones are water-proof. The first call made from a mobile phone was placed by Martin Cooper in 1973. Present-day cell phones have more computing power than the computer used for Apollo 11 to land on the moon! In Britain, more than 100,000 cell phones are droppedin the toilet every year!

2. I agree with Jess she did say something important on my opinion to, there is no purpose of not achieving something. When we have a goal, we can do all we can to achieve our goals. It’s not easy work but you need to try anyway. When you set your goals and try to achieve them they will be the most amazing and rightest thing that you can ever do.There are people that don’t wanna work or achieve any goal they stay where they were . But that is not the case, you have to strive, and work to make it possible to achieve what you want and get to your dream .🥰🥰🥰
